Big Brother

As the summer draws to a close and the school year lingering around the corner, one thing I’m looking forward to, if any, is being a big brother. Ever since my freshman year, I have always wanted to become a big brother. My big brother treated me very well and even took me out to lunch one day—one of my freshman year experiences that I will always remember. Ever since that day, I vowed to treat my little brother in the same manner.

However, one thing that has always been in the back of my mind is whether or not my little brother will like me and vice-versa. Im hoping my big brother shares the same interests as I, so we can automatically create some kind of non-awkward conversation. Maybe he’ll be a Filipino and we can talk about our culture. Maybe he’ll be an NBA fan and we can talk about the kings. or maybe he won’t. Maybe he listens to Korean music and we can talk about Taeyang. or maybe he won’t. Either way, I’ll try my best to be friends with him. My big brother and I did not have much in common, but we still became good friends. Seeing him in college now and me as a senior, I’m starting to feel older already.
